2009 Academy of Management Annual Meeting
The meeting theme, " Green Management Matters ," encourages us to consider how our ongoing scholarly activities- including teaching, research and service- might shape and be shaped by society's increasing concern about responsible stewardship of the natural environment. The meeting will take place in Chicago, Illinois.
With 6402 total submissions organized into 1654 sessions, and with over 8000 participants representing 75 countries, the 2009 Annual Meeting Program promises to be as exciting as ever!

The CUMBA CSR Conference
The CUMBA CSR Conference was held in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on May 6th. This year's conference theme was "Creating Sustainable Impact- CSR as a Competitive Edge". The conference addressed the current economic crisis and explored how Corporate Social Responsibility could address the current economic downturn. Click here to visit the conference web site.

Catalyzing Conscious Capitalism
Building on the resounding success of the first practitioner-centric conference called Catalyzing Conscious Capitalism® in Austin in November 2008, this gathering of thought leaders aimed to lay the intellectual and conceptual foundations of the field, and identify key research questions.
It featured two days of presentations by leading thinkers on the fundamentals of business definition, purpose and stakeholder orientation. It was held at Bentley University in Waltham, Massachusetts. Visit the conference web site for more information.

Second Global Forum on Business as an Agent of World Benefit
Aspen CBE and Case Western Reserve University collaborated on the Second Global Forum on Business as an Agent of World Benefit (BAWB). The conference was held on June 2-5, 2009 at Case Western Reserve's Weatherhead School of Management in Cleveland , Ohio, discussed the concept of “management- as-design” as its starting point. Defined as a “creative problem-solving” and “out of the box thinking” approach, management-as-design envisions large scale innovation to unleash human creativity and harness business to benefit people and planet. January 9th and 10th, 2009
On January 9th and 10th in Jamshedpur, India, The Aspen Institute held its third meeting of the Teaching Innovation Program-India (TIP-India), a network of faculty, business and NGO leaders who support efforts within Indian business education to prepare managers to tackle the social and environmental issues that affect business. The program hopes to stimulate new research on business education, develop new curricular models and teaching materials, and works to change the context of business education, including recruitment, admissions and ranking.
