Program Assistant, Aspen Institute Center for Business Education
Garrett Barr came to the Business and Society Program at the Aspen Institute in May 2010, just one year after completing his B.Sc. in Economics at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. He provides overall support for several projects associated with the Institute's Center for Business Education including:
- CasePlace.org - an online library of reading materials, multimedia content and teaching modules that focuses on social, environmental and ethical issues in business
- Business and Society International MBA Case Competition - an annual case competition focused explicitly on the intersection of business and society
- Faculty Pioneer Awards - an awards program that recognizes faculty who are leaders in integrating social and environmental issues into their research and teaching
He assists the Center's managers and directors in meeting project initiatives that ultimately help influence business pedagogy to take on a more holistic approach. It is this very influence that allows Garrett to incorporate his passion for sustainable business into his work.
Garrett briefly held positions with the State University of New York's Levin Institute and the New York State Banking Department in 2009 and 2010 before joining the Aspen BSP team.
