We are excited to report we had two successful convenings for the TIP-India program in December 2009.
We held a Corporate Roundtable in Mumbai in mid-December in order to share our work with CEOs, India country heads and other high-level executives. We had a group of 10 senior executives, representing Indian corporations that recruit talent from the leading business schools in India and are therefore the ultimate beneficiaries of our work. This session was graciously hosted by Mahindra & Mahindra Limited.
There was also a TIP-India convening with academics and workforce development professionals (HR, Executive Leadership and Development, CSR) in Goa on December 11-12. During this 2-day session, with over 35 faculty from 12 leading business schools, we shared best practices and challenges in integrating sustainability into mainstream business education, discussed corporate recruitment at business schools, shared results from our India Student Attitudes Survey and highlighted new curriculum products that have been developed through the program. This convening was graciously hosted by Goa Institute of Management.
We are in the process of establishing working groups to move our work forward. Once we have created the groups and established our goals for 2010, we plan to share them with you in the hope that you and your institution will get involved as well.
CSR Simulation Game Update
After featuring the CSR Simulation Game in our last newsletter, a number of people inquired about gaining access to the game, for use in their classrooms. At this point, the CSR Simulation Game is still a work-in-progress. We are refining it based on feedback we received at the most recent TIP-India convening. Once completed, we will develop a plan for sharing it with other academics and institutions.
CONGRATULATIONS to our Student Essay Competition Winners
We are pleased to announce the winners of our student essay competition where we asked, "How should sustainability (social, environmental and ethical issues) be integrated into mainstream business education?" Ramaa Ramesh from XLRI and Krithiga Sankaran from IIM - Bangalore won the competition and represented their schools at the TIP-India meeting in December. They each brought energy and enthusiasm to the sessions and made valuable contributions. We were thrilled to have student perspectives voiced at the meeting. Excerpts from the winning essays will be featured in subsequent newsletters.
