Proceedings from Employee Ownership Symposium Now Available
 

One year ago, Aspen participated in the inaugural Beyster Fellowship Symposium, sponsored by The Foundation for Enterprise Development.  The Symposium served as an opportunity for researchers from numerous institutions to present on and discuss inter-disciplinary studies addressing broad-based employee ownership.  The proceedings for the symposium, titled Shared Capitalism and Employee Ownership: The Scholarly Agenda, are now available on the Foundation's Web site and we encourage you to take a look--it's a good source of background on the history and current research trends on employee ownership as a field of study.

The 2nd International Research Conference on Conscious Capitalism will be held at Bentley University on May 24-25, 2010. The theme this year is "Conscious Capitalism: Issues, Insights and Implementation."  Conscious Capitalism is a movement that unites business practitioners, prominent thought leaders, and leading academics around the idea that businesses can and should exist for a deeper purpose, and be managed for the benefit of multiple stakeholders.  Click here to learn more.

"Collaboration" is a supply chain buzzword that people often talk about in theory but rarely implement in practice. And yet smart organizations have found big payoffs in collaborations that not only share costs and risks but also rewards. Stanford's April 29 conference, Collaboration for the Greater Good: Social and Environmental Responsibility in the Global Supply Chain, will explore how innovative collaborations between businesses, nonprofits, and governments can solve social and environmental problems while maintaining or even enhancing profits.
