Sustainability in Context: The Fashion Industry

We are pleased to launch a new teaching module that looks at many issues related to sustainability through the lens of the fashion industry.  The module includes links to over 80 teaching cases, reports and other materials that explore these issues.  Fashion Futures 2025: Global Scenarios for a Sustainable Fashion Industry, produced by Forum for the Future and Levi Strauss, served as the initial inspiration for this Module.

Michael Kobori Levi'sAn Interview with Levi Strauss & Co.'s

Michael Kobori

Michael Kobori is Vice President for Social and Environmental Sustainability at Levi Strauss & Co.  Upon the launch of our new teaching module on fashion and sustainability --which includes a report on the future of fashion produced in a partnership between Levi's and the Forum for the Future FFF)--we asked Michael some questions about sustainability at Levi's.

What made Levi Strauss & Co. decide to partner with Forum for the Future in producing this report?  Our goal in creating the Fashion Futures 2025 report was to challenge our executives and designers as well as the industry and consumers to think about how to create a more sustainable future. Forum for the Future has a long history of providing sustainable strategies for industries to think about the future, making them t the ideal collaborator. We were proud to lend our sustainability, business and apparel experience to their extended network of thought leaders around the world.
