Aspen CBE Announces 2009 Faculty Pioneer and Dissertation Awards

Nominations for Aspen CBE's Faculty Pioneer and Dissertation Proposal Awards will open this week.  The deadline for both awards is March 27th. 
 
Called "the Oscars of the business school world" by the Financial Times, the Faculty Pioneer Awards recognize faculty doing leading research on the environmental and social impacts of business, while the Dissertation Proposal Awards support outstanding next generation scholars.  For the first time this year, Aspen CBE will give the Shared Capitalism through Employee Ownership Award, which will recognize outstanding Ph.D. research on employee ownership.

Call for Faculty Thoughts on the Economic Crisis

Aspen CBE Announces 2009 Beyond Grey Pinstripes Fellows
 
The Aspen Institute Center for Business Education is pleased to announce the 2009 class of Research Fellows who will be reviewing coursework for inclusion in this year's Beyond Grey Pinstripes survey and alternative ranking.  The Fellows are business Ph.D. candidates who hail from around the world, and were competitively selected for this important task.  The Fellows will be feted at a cocktail party to be held in their honor at the upcoming AOM conference in Chicago.  Please click here for a list of Fellows.
New GVV Curriculum Materials Available 
 
In February, four new cases for use in teaching Giving Voice to Values (a practical, cross-disciplinary curriculum on business ethics) were posted on CasePlace.org.  Three of the cases target finance and economics, and one launches the GVV-India collection.  Some of the issues tackled in the cases include executive compensation, product safety, and employee layoffs.  Please click here for descriptions and links to the new materials.

Entries opened for the Second AABS Case
Competition on December 1, 2008 and will close on March 12, 2009. Submitted case studies should be suitable for use in management education and should be related to managerial issues faced by organizations and individuals.  For more information, please visit AABS's web site.
