Web Conference on Corporate Environmental Responsibility Highly Successful
On Tuesday July 28, Aspen CBE and Walden University held a joint web conference on the topic of "Environmental Responsibility and the Major Multinational Corporation." Hosted by Walden University School of Management Associate Dean Dr. Wanda Gravett, the web conference featured presentations from Irene Henriques, Associate Professor of Economics at the Schulich School of Business at York University, and Bruce Schlein, Vice President of Corporate Sustainability at Citi. Business & Human Rights Resource Centre Launches New Online Information Hub
Today the non-profit Business & Human Rights Resource Centre launched the world's only online portal for all materials relating to the work of the United Nations Secretary-General's Special Representative on business & human rights, Professor John Ruggie. This free portal includes all the Special Representative's reports, papers and speeches; material on his consultations with stakeholders; and diverse commentaries about his work. Case Writing Competition
oikos and Ashoka have issued a call for cases, joining forces to promote the creation of high quality teaching cases on Corporate Sustainability (sponsored by oikos foundation) and Social Entrepreneurship (sponsored by Ashoka). The competition welcomes entries from all parts of the world. Submitted case studies should be suitable for use in management education and should be related to managerial issues faced by organizations and individuals. | Babson College Issues Call for Papers for GAOC Conference
Babson College has issued a call for papers for its upcoming Global Accounting and Organizational Change Conference.
The theme of this year's conference is "accounting's role in promoting social change." Empirical and review papers are sought from a variety of theoretical and methodological perspectives.

Aspen CBE Welcomes Laurie Saft Ginsberg
We are pleased to announce that Laurie Saft Ginsberg joined the Aspen CBE team in early July. Laurie will manage our Faculty Networks program, which convenes academics and business leaders around topics in sustainability. She will soon be issuing a Request for Proposals for new Faculty Network topics. Laurie has spent the bulk of her career in marketing and business development roles in the financial services industry, at AllianceBernstein, Credit Suisse and Evercore Partners, and recently helped to launch the U.S. office of a London-based CSR consultancy. She has an MBA in Finance and Marketing from NYU's Stern School of Business and a BA in History and Hebrew from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Laurie is hard at work with the Teaching Innovation Program in India (TIP-India), a network of academics and business leaders committed to improving teaching and research on social and environmental issues in Indian business education.
